Cannulas Used in Liposuction Surgery

Reusable cannulas, standard surgical instruments for liposuction and fat transfers, introduce doctors and patients to a number of potential safety and performance risks. Difficult to clean and sterilize, reusable cannulas increase the risk of cross-patient contamination from diseases such as hepatitis and HIV. In addition, these stainless steel devices are susceptible to internal corrosion that damages fat cells and tissue, reducing the quality of certain procedures and hindering patient recovery.

New syringe-based disposable cannulas overcome these challenges by eliminating the need to clean and sterilize cannulas. Because each procedure is performed using a new cannula, corrosion concerns no longer exist. Disposable cannulas are also economically priced and can be easily billed to clients, providing doctors extra revenue potential.

Liposuction in Newport Beach, CA

This morning I was getting some gas and I over heard a couple ladies talking about how they are having a hard time getting the excess skin off around their butt and their thighs. They were saying that they have been going to the gym and they have not had any luck. I then said that have you looked in to having plastic surgery to help you.
I then told them that I had the same problem. I then told them that I found this plastic surgeon in Newport Beach, California. I really had great results from having the liposuction a year a go. I also told them that you can get your question and concerns answered. You can also see before and after photos of other patients who have had the liposuction done.
It has been 6 months since I have seen those ladies. I then bumped it to one of them again at the gas station and she look great and she is happy with her results.

Are There Different Liposuction Techniques?

Though the basics of liposuction remain the same, there are different techniques that can be used during liposuction. “Tumescent Liposuction” During this technique the plastic surgeon will inject a medicated solution into the fatty areas before the fat is removed. The solution is a mixture of intravenous salt water, a local anesthetic (lidocaine) and a drug that contracts the blood vessels (epinephrine). This fluid injection helps the fat to be removed more easily, reduces blood loss and bruising after surgery, and provides anesthesia during and after the surgery. The amount of fluid injected varies and depends on the preference of the surgeon. “Ultrasound-Assisted Lipoplasty (UAL) This technique requires the use of a special cannula that produces ultrasonic energy. As the ultrasonic energy passes through the areas of fat it causes the fat cells to liquefy. The fat is then removed with the traditional liposuction technique. Because the fat is liquid at the time that it is removed, UAL is smoother and mechanically more efficient. UAL also minimizes trauma, resulting in less bruising and blood loss and especially improves the ease and effectiveness of liposuction in fibrous areas of the body.
